Efficient searching for (scientific) information starts with analysing a certain problem that needs to be solved. You analyse your assignment and the available background information to formulate a general research question. You split your research question into sub-questions if necessary.  Use your research question and sub-questions to create a search plan. These steps are represented in the title image above.

With a good search plan, you know what you are looking for and you can be reasonably sure that you won’t miss any important information. It ensures that your search results are relevant and complete. During the Analysis you will start the search plan by making a table that contains the concepts and the related terms and synonyms.
