Relevance and reliability

As mentioned, searching is an iterative process. In this process it is important to assess the relevance and reliability of your results.  For the research question on the automotive industry, mainly scholarly information will be used.

Scientific or scholarly information is published in several ways. Scholarly information is often considered as one of the most reliable information types because of the peer review process (see TULib for more information on the peer review process). It is important to be aware of the differences within scientific information and recognize the differences between a trade journal and a scholarly journal. Both can be useful, but they must be relevant and used properly. This can influence the way how you use the information in your own report or paper.
