Deze lezing gaat over geohydrologie. Eerst wordt het onderwerp grondwater ingeleid. Daarna wordt dieper ingegaan op het meten van de grondwaterstand en de stromingen in de ondergrond. De volgende onderwerpen en begrippen komen aan bod:

  • Hydrologische kringloop en hydrologische kringloop van grondwater
  • Het gebruik van grondwater voor drinkwater, industrie en landbouw
  • Vervuiling van grondwater – arsenicum in Bangladesh, graanpakhuizen US
  • Opbouw van de ondergrond m.b.t. grondwater: watervoerende pakketten en slecht doorlatende lagen, aquifers
  • Stijghoogte in een peilbuis bij grondwatermetingen
  • Stromingen in de ondergrond, porositeit van de ondergrond
