Blocks 2, 3, and 4 include homework assignments to help the student better understand the theory. These homework assignments provide a link between the analytical solution gained from the theory and numerical solutions extracted from models.

Block 4 applies the knowledge from the lectures to a plate with a center hole, loaded in tension. Stresses and stress concentrations, as well as springback are set out to be analysed using a Finite Element model generated using engineering decisions.
