In the video below, you find the first practitioners view of this course. In an interview with Chris Zevenbergen we asked him about his field of work, how he approaches the problem field and how nature-based solutions play a role in addressing the challenges.
Chris Zevenbergen is a professor at the Water Engineering Department of the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education and at the Department of Hydraulic Engineering of the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands. He is also a visiting professor at the Southeast University in China and Project Director of DeltaCap, a Capacity Development Program funded by the Dutch Government to support the implementation of the Dutch flood risk management plan in Bangladesh, and of the AFMA program to develop and implement Anticipatory Flood Risk Management in Alexandria, Egypt. As of 2016, he is advisor of Bax & Company, a leading European innovation consultancy in Barcelona, Spain.
