This lecture covers the theory behind launchers. Both single and multi stage launchers are covered, both in the theory, as well as the differences with reality. After the theory, an example is given of the Pegasus launcher, which is used to describe the overall performance of a launcher.  Finally some ideas are shared of what affects the design of a launcher.
