2.4.1 Trade-offs synergies and industry
Course subject(s)
2. System thinking in the industrial sector
In this final video of module 2, we have two interviews. Two industrial partners from two different companies will discuss about Industry 4.0 and its application. We will pinpoint again the importance of considering the multiscale scope of industrial emissions reduction. We will also remind that climate change mitigation options decrease CO2 emissions while probably compromising other performance indicators.
Key takeaways:
- Climate change mitigation solutions have to be tailored to different industry types and companies
- In order to propose effective climate change mitigation solutions, the multiscale/system perspective cannot be missed
- The decision-maker will always have to prioritise one aspect versus another, when taking climate change related decisions; normally, new technological options are at higher cost
