2.5.2 Glass Enterprises

Course subject(s) Module 2. Open up your mind

Glass Enterprises, formerly Google Glass, make a set of glasses which integrates the user into the digital world. It features a camera, small screen, internet connection, sound system and a very nifty bit of AI. Glass was originally discontinued as a consumer product in 2015, after it was negatively received in the media. Now it is making a comeback in business-to-business, as a device to improve the performance and experience of people at work, most notably doctors. By providing important information, taking notes automatically and displaying necessary information (such as an x-ray or footage of previous surgery during an operation), less mistakes are made and doctors have more time for what is really important: their patients.

In this video, surgeon Rafael Grossman explains about the positive effect that this technology could have on the medical field.
