When you place a couch in your own house you are quite sure that you will go and sit on it. However, when you place a bench in public space, the usage is uncertain. Interventions in public space are less predictable and don’t stay the same as right after their implementation. Its usage can vary for instance. When placing nature instead of a bench you can expect changes for sure: nature grows!
