5.2.2 Product design in relation to remanufacturing

Course subject(s) Module 5. Resource efficiency by product design, production and substitution of materials

Remanufacturing products is economically viable when the product can be easily disassembled. In that case the throughput is high and labour and processing costs are low. Designing products with remanufacturing in mind is therefore important. Maud Rio gives an overview of guidelines and methods in this video.

Main takeaways

  • Thinking of CRM recovery as early as product design is essential.
  • Methods exist to anticipate material recovery.
