5.3.1 Interview: Program Management

Course subject(s) Module 5. Program Management

In the next video, we have an interview with Ingwer de Boer about his experience with implementing the Room for River program in the Netherlands and lessons learned.

If you watch the interview then note:

– The trend breaches

– What was organized at national level and what at more level

– The political challenge

The interview described how the Dutch Room for the River program included several innovative policy ideas that led to an innovative program. There are three trend breaks. The first one is giving more space to the river, which originates the Room for the River program. Secondly, it considers a bottom-up approach where local people participate in the project. Finally, the co-design perspective can be highlighted with the guidance of landscape architects, hydraulics, and other technical input.
