08: Dynamic Stability

Course subject(s) 08: Dynamic Stability

Design of berm breakwaters is gaining more and more attention. The term berm breakwater refers to the presence of an extended quantity of stone on the seaward side of the breakwater. This volume is sufficient to allow for a certain deformation without endangering the integrity of the structure as a whole. This chapter gives some empirical data on the deformation of such berm breakwaters.
