Biostructure and Bioenergy (muscle configurations)

Course week(s) Week 3
Course subject(s) Biostructure and Bioenergy (muscle configurations)

Part of Bioconstruction

This lecture explains first about mechanical stiffness and motion and will show you what the differences are between human engineering and nature in terms of system, construction elements and material. The first part also explains the ‘linear beam theory’ in BioDesign and shows you what ‘tensegrity’ is on different levels (cell level, tissue level and organ level).

The second part of this lecture is about hydrostatic stiffness and motion and tells you more about three biological mechanism and their resulting technology. This part also shows you what the technologicl inventions are in this area.
