This lecture deals with two different subjects: coastal reservoirs and continental moisture recycling. The part about coastal reservoir is a follow up of the lectures about hydrology in coastal areas and salt intrusion.

The part about coastal reservoirs focuses on the following subjects:

  • General design;
  • Water balance;
  • Salt balance;
  • Salinity over time;
  • Effect of embanking on the hydrological conditions
  • Where does precipitation come from
  • Moisture recycling
