Flight mechanics 2 – Horizontal flight performance I
Course week(s)
Week 8
In this lecture Dr. Ir. M. Voskuijl continues on aircraft performance. The focus of the first half of the lecture lies on drags and how it is composed of profile drag and induced drag. The relations are then derived to show profile drag increases with airspeed and induced drag decreases, which you can take into account when designing your airfoil. The second half of the lecture focuses on the performance parameters of minimum and maximum airspeed, and the range of aircraft.
