Historie Hydrologie

Course subject(s) 2. Historie hydrologie

In deze lezing gaat professor Savenije dieper in op de historie van de hydrologie. De volgende onderwerpen komen daarbij aan bod:

  • Vroege geschiedenis: bewoning op terpen
  • Afwatering en bouw van dammen en sloten – het ontstaan van Hollandse steden op deze dammen
  • Ringdijken in Friesland – het ontstaan van de eerste waterschappen
  • De Hollandse waterlinie
  • Grote werken: Zuiderzeewerken, Deltawerken, Droogmakerijen

Het tweede deel van de lezing gaat over tsunami’s.

Het derde en laatste deel van de lezing gaat over de hydrologische kringloop.
