6. Porous flow, general
Porous flow is flow through granular medium like sand, stone or pebbles. This lecture will focus on the relation between porous flow, the loads caused by porous flow and the effect of the flow on (protection) structures. Unstable situations can cause erosions in several ways which in turn can damage protection structures. Therefore a stable situation is required. The following lecture will discuss the basic equations of porous flow some of their applications.
