In this lecture the Waste and Energy Company of the municipality of Amsterdam presents its vision of a new generation of waste incineration: the 4th-generation Waste-2-Energy. The fourth generation waste to energy, started in 2006, is designed for recovery of energy and materials. The city of Amsterdam aims to maximize the use of waste. The main focus is the production of energy from waste. Producing energy from waste seems to be a cost-effective means for sustainable, renewable energy.
