3a Introduction to understanding the context of use

Course subject(s) 3. Understanding the context of use Understanding the context of use

We hope you enjoyed diving into understanding meaning in design. And we hope you managed to unravel the meaning of your own morning ritual in last lectures exercise.  Did you find the key factors that influence how you experience your morning ritual? Did you get to an understanding of why your morning ritual is the way it is? Perhaps you found out why and how you might redesign your morning ritual for the better?

This lecture, it is time to shift your focus: from deconstructing your own morning ritual to trying to understandsomeone elses morning ritual! You will be using the same basic WHAT, HOW & WHY structure in the coming lectures to design something that can improve other people’s morning rituals.

Let’s start with some actual field work to understand someone else’s context of use!
