Urban Analysis and Design Principles

Analysis of precedents, exemplary realized urban plans, often form the base for urban design. From it we can deduce „proven” rules and typologies. These than can be utilized on the different scale levels.

This lecture will treat the basic principles of urban analysis and design. By use of maps, diagrams and images the various types of parcellation, public spaces and urban build typology are made clear.
