Introduction

Does your satellite point in the right direction? This module will be all about attitude determination and control. We will discuss some basics, look at some popular algortihms but more importantly: go through all types of sensors and actuators.

Learning objectives/outcomes

By the end of this activity, you will be able to:

  • Explain the functions of an ADCS
  • Explain the principles of a Kalman filer and a PID controller
  • List, explain, analyze and calculate different types and options for attitude sensors and actuators
