The following paper elaborates on the drivers for and the opportunities and risks of adaptive reuse. The influence of location and building characteristics is further explored with some case studies of office adaptations into housing in the Netherlands. Please read it to find out more about the topic.
Also, have a quick look at the final chapter of previously mentioned literature, which covers the Risk Assessment Table of the conversion meter, including risks and possible solutions (step 5). This topic is handled in page 12-15 of the following document.
