Over the last few modules, we have seen that water is at the core of many economic, social and cultural problems worldwide. We have also seen that sectoral approaches and technological solutions have not made these problems go away. This module we take the next step to identify and recognize the complexity of water-related questions, exploring selected case studies.

You will learn that many of these challenges result from how we value water, whether we give it economic, environmental or cultural importance. To facilitate this analysis, we will break down the complex water challenges into dualities. By the end of the module, you will work with a set of dualities in your selected waterwork case. You will be able to identify the multiple values that are at play within water systems and recognize the results of conflicting values, but also assess shared values as opportunities for cross-sectoral solutions.

Good luck, and enjoy!
