4.1.1 Introduction to Project Work Breakdown Structure

Course subject(s) 4. Construction and Project Management

Introduction 4.1

Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is a management tool that helps you to identify the top-level project deliverables and to systematically decompose the deliverables in tasks and activities. This tool helps you to manage and organize all building adaptation project activities. Furthermore, a WBS is often used as a basis to plan, estimate and control a project.

In this unit 4.2 you first learn to understand what a WBS is and how it can be used by watching a video lecture and reading some web-based articles.
In the full course on edX, your knowlegde about the subject is then tested by answering some quiz questions. As a final assignment, you are going to create a phase-based WBS for a building project team.
