6.1.1 Introduction to module 6

Course subject(s) Module 6: Various applications of a quantum internet

We have arrived to the final module of this course! Last week we reviewed various applications of a quantum computer, and this week we will dive deeper into the applications of a quantum internet.

One area where quantum communication over a quantum internet has shown great promise is in solving problems in distributed systems. We encounter distributed systems basically everywhere in our daily life. For example, when storing data in Dropbox, Alibaba Cloud or Google Drive or when we use resources in a network, like a shared printer or a hard drive.

Furthermore, Stephanie will briefly introduce other fields of applications, such as cryptographic problems. For example, the problem of secure identification and position verification.
