Let us continue our journey through the forest and have a look at a tree stem that is laying in the sand (image below).
Many trees in moderate climates make one growth ring each year, with the newest adjacent to the bark. Hence, for the entire period of a tree’s life, a year-by-year record or ring pattern is formed that reflects the age of the tree and the climatic conditions in which the tree grew. If you wanted to investigate and count the tree rings you can use your eyes and count. Another way is to take a magnifying glass and examine each detail. Depending on the scope, you determine the tool you need. This is very important, and you should be aware of what you need in order to see and collect the relevant data.
