Field investigation 3

Course subject(s) 4. Aerospace Engineering

On the right-hand side, you observe similar damage as the left-hand side engine propeller. You continue to walk around and see Holmes. You walk to Holmes, who is standing next to the runway and tells you what he is observing.

Holmes: “As you can see there are little marks on the left and right-hand side of the runway. The marks increase in size from the start of runway to the final aircraft position. In the center of the runway, approximately 2/3 length, a large white colored scrape is visible. The small marks stop at this point. The scrape bents to the right and increases in width.”

In the image below four possible sketches are shown with the damage marked in red/brown and the runway in grey.
