Land use modelling is an extension to transport modelling. In the book you can find an introduction, including the Lowry model in section 15.2. Furthermore, two papers are used for this topic:
- Wegener M, F. Fürst (1999), Land use transport interaction: state of the art
- Zondag, B. M. de Bok, K.T. Geurs, E. Molenwijk (2015), Accessibility modeling and evaluation: The TIGRIS XL land-use and transport interaction model for the Netherlands, Computers, Environment and Urban Systems 49, pp. 115–125
The first two parts of section 15.2 give an introduction to land use modelling and the Lowry-model. The paper by Wegener and Fürst introduces the concept of Wegener’s circle as well as empirical evidence to support the mechanisms. The article by Zondag et al. gives a detailed description of the TIGRIS XL-model.
