upply or network modelling is the last step in the 4-stage model. For each mode the demand that is calculated with the demand models is assigned to the corresponding networks to determine the flows in the network: cars to the car network, bikes to the bicycle network, and public transport travellers to the public transport network.

A distinction is made for four different problem types:

  • Uncongested link networks, e.g. for bicycles or cars in off-peak periods
  • Congested link networks, for cars in peak periods
  • Public transport networks
  • System optimal usage of car networks in peak periods
