1.3.2 Why we need circular economy (2/3)?
Module 1. What is the circular economy?
In the second video in the series, Ken Webster describes how resources are increasingly difficult to extract, how the linear economy undermines biodiversity, and how unstable our current financial system has become.
While watching the video, try to understand the arguments Ken makes. Do his arguments make sense to you? Why (not)?

The Linear Economy is not working very well. Three reasons:
- Resources like fossil fuels, food and water are increasingly hard to get at.
- Biodiversity is in decline worldwide. Still, we seem to take the ecological services provided by the natural world for granted.
- The financial system almost crashed the entire economy.
There are more issues with the Linear Economy. These will be discussed in the next video.
