2.2.1 Book-keeping energy

Course subject(s) 2. Accounting energy use and GHG emissions

In video 2.2 we will be exploring the topic of book-keeping energy. We will be introducing the energy balance, which is a method for accounting for the different elements of the energy system.

Key takeaways:

  • Energy balances provide an overview of important energy flows and their sources. They can be for a country, region or even individual businesses
  • An energy balance consists of the energy consumption subdivided by the sectors in which it’s used, energy supply including the different conversion sectors, and finally the sources of energy including production, imports and exports
