  • Materials criticality is assessed along three key dimensions (or axes): supply risk, environmental implications and vulnerability to supply restriction.
  • Materials complexity has increased over the past decades, due to the development of (for instance) modern electronics. The number of critical materials tends to grow as their use increases.
