In this second lecture, Auke Hoekstra discusses the drivetrains of conventional and electric vehicles. We look into internal combustion engine vehicles (ICEs), hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), full electric vehicles (FEVs), fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) and full electric trucks. Auke also discusses the advantages and disadvantages of the different powertrains and performs a generic cost comparison.
