2. Material Physics

Course subject(s) Structural Engineering Lectures

In this lecture Prof. Ir. R. Alderliesten talks about Material physics and proerties. The subjects covered in this lecture are different loading mechanisms in materials and their deformation mechanisms. Material properties that are discussed are strength, stiffness and toughness.

The second part of the lecture focuses of the effect of temperature on strength, fatigue properties, toughness and on the expansion of the material.  Next to temperature,a selection of all kinds of different environmental influences on the material are discussed.
