Stress-State Simplifications

Aerospace engineers typically deal with highly weight efficient structures. For torsion, this means that the wall thickness of the shaft will often be small. This realm of shaft geometries enables some simplifications to the assumed stress state which allow for fast and easy analysis of thin-walled shafts.
