Introduction

Welcome to the first content module of the course on Smart Grids: Modeling!

In the previous course Smart Grids : The Basics, the various approaches on how to model smart grids, and few of the simulation tools used for that have been discussed. We also looked at power system analysis, by studying the concepts of optimal power flow, the dynamics of power systems, and their different types of control. In this module,  community  driven software OpenModelica will be introduced.

During this module, we shall discuss the following:

•        Installation and setup of OpenModelica.
•        Modelica examples, which will allow learners to get accustomed to the software.
