This lecture is about deformation. The lecture begins with short terminology and rock mechanics. Then the layer parallel shortening (LPS) will be taught, which contains the stylolites, joints and veins. This will be followed by instability developed according to faulting mechanism. Finally this lecture covers the instability developed due to folding mechanism.
