This lecture mainly explains about how to calculate the hydrodynamic coefficients. The teacher will first explain the “left hand side” of the motion equation, which describes the reaction forces on a ship from the fluid that is surrounding it. The second part of this lecture will explain more on how to determine the coefficients from the radiation potentials.
