2.2.5 Case study: HR director engineering consultancy firm

Course subject(s) Module 2. Strategies in Networks

For this case study:

First, the situation is characterized. This is followed by a brief video in which two actors act out a situation. Finally, you are asked the question: describe the smart command and control strategy that is being applied here?

An HR director in an engineering consultancy firm is working on a reorganization. Various models are available that can be used to structure the new organization. The basic principle is that HR will become decentralized, but there are three potential models for this decentralization: A, B and C.

The HR director involves the HR department staff in the decision-making process. They have to indicate what they consider to be the best model and are also permitted to devise smart combinations of the different models.

After two months, the director and staff meet up. Watch the video in which the director speaks.
