The excursion to Heemskerk (PWN) deals with drinking water production from surface water, in combination with surface water infiltration in the dunes.
At Heemskerk, the membrane filtration installations (ultrafiltration followed by reverse osmosis) have been seen. Also an explanation was given about the new treatment with advanced oxidation by peroxide and UV.
