2. Precipitation and runoff
Lecturer: Prof.dr.ir. Uhlenbrook
This lecture consists of two parts: one about precipitation and one about discharge. The relation between these processes will also dealt with.
The part about precipitation focuses on the following subjects:
- Different types of precipitation;
- Precipitation formation processes;
- Precipitation parameters;
- Measurement techniques for precipitation;
- Areal estimation of precipitation.
The part about discharge focuses on the following subjects:
- Discharge measurements;
- Interpreting the catchment response – discharge;
- Hydrograph analysis;
- Effective precipitation and simple methods to estimate peak discharge.
