Week 2
Course subject(s)
2. Sensors
This lecture discusses the conversion of information from the non-electrical world around us to an electrical signal by means of sensors. The basic operating principles, characteristics and applications of various sensors are discussed: resistive, capacitive, inductive, thermoelectric, and semiconducting sensors. In the following lectures, these sensors will come back in context of the readout electronics that are used to process their output signals.
