1.3.2 Creating an account

Course subject(s) Module 1. Scratch: Programming for Kids Module 1. Scratch: Programming for Teachers

On this page we will show you how to create an account on Scratch! Make sure that you have your own account, so a different one than your classmate or brother or sister has.

This way, you can make your own programs, work at your own pace and do all this in your own personal space online!

To create an account, you first go to the Scratch website.

Then, you click on this button (see the highlighted circle).

After clicking that button, the fun stuff is there, namely think of your username! Will you pick something cool? The screen you should see looks like this:

After that, you fill in some other questions, like your birthday, gender and country. Also, Scratch asks for the e-mail address of your parent or guardian. Ask them for help when you are filling this in.

The rest is pretty self-explanatory.  You can do it! Almost there.

Lastly, you confirm your account by clicking on a link Scratch has sent you via e-mail… and there you go!

Woohoo! You have your Scratch account!
