Plate Theory II

This is the second part of Plate Theory. In this lecture the Energy-Navier solution will be derived and the Buckling will be explained.

The Energy-Navier solution is obtained by first deriving the total potential energy. Then the equilibrium equations are constructed. After that the Navier- solution is explained. For the calculation of the pressure coefficients two cases are considered, the uniform pressure and the concentrated force. The second section of this lecture deals with Buckling of plates. Firstly, the use of moderate rotation will be tought. Secondly, the equilibrium equations are constructed. Using these knowledge buckling will be discussed. Uniaxial compression is taken as a case study for buckling. Finally, this lecture will look to the relation between buckling and energy.
