The excursion to Ridderkerk (Oasen) deals with drinking water production from groundwater, and from riverbank groundwater.
At Ridderkerk, the groundwater abstraction wells can be seen. Also the treatment facilities (with cascade aeration, softening, filtration, activated carbon filtration, UV disinfection), the clear water storage tanks and the distribution pumping station will be shown.
