In this lecture prof. dr. Michael Hicks introduces the subject soil mechanics. Soil mechanics leans to Geo-engineering, one of the three traditional disciplines within Civil Engineering. The lecture is divided in three parts covering three different subjects. The first part is about the drained loading of soils. The second part focuses on undrained loading of soils and the last part is about consolidation of soils.
