Lecture 3: Ray calculations and interaction of sound with the seafloor
In this part of the third lecture the ray acoustics are discussed. You can read more about ray acoustics in chapter 3b of the reader.
This lecture is about the interaction of sound with the seafloor. Using various equations one can calculate how the sound is being reflected by the seafloor. The physics of scattering will also be discussed, because the seafloor is not an ideal plane surface. Chapter 4 is downloadable in Readings
