This module deals with the boundary scan standard (JTAG IEEE Std 1149.1). First, the purpose and motivation for this standard is given. Thereafter, the concept of boundary scans is elaborated together with the architecture of the scans. Also, boundary scan components (registers, TAP controllers) are discussed. Lastly, Boundary Scan Description Language (BSDL) is explained by giving its purposes and features.
