Problem demarcation

Course subject(s) Module 8. Bonus module: Problem demarcation and actor analysis (skills)

Problem demarcation

As we learned during this course, infrastructures and its problems are very complex. Problems can be formulated at different levels. Choosing the right level from which to start the analysis is not always easy. However, the level at which a problem is formulated largely determines the problem demarcation, the spectrum of aspects/factors and possible solutions that are taken into account

Our reading to help you to get started concerns chapter 3 of the book titled ‘Policy Analysis of Multi-Actor Systems’ (if you have limited time, focus on paragraph 3.3). Furthermore we have  two web lectures from the book’s co-author Pieter Bots.
